Keeping America Safe

March 2016

Here are two direct quotes from Jesus in the Bible's New Testament.

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." Matthew 10:34

"If you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one." Luke 22:36

One of America's largest gun makers almost doubled its profits in the third quarter of its fiscal year, which ended on January 31, 2016.

Smith & Wesson's quarterly net sales stood at $210.8 million from November 2015 through January 2016, a 61.5 percent jump from the $130.5 million in net sales for the same quarter the previous year.

The two highest yet contradictory commandments in Christianity are to love God and to love your neighbor as yourself, yet in Christian America, violence and killing neighbors at home and abroad is a way of life.

Far from denouncing the culture of violence, Christian Americans willingly embrace the principle of “an eye for an eye” and hypocritically support Trump or the other war mongering candidates for Commander-In Chief. They believe in the oxymoron, "we must make war to make peace."

America's continued bombing, occupation and looting of other nations is explained to the U.S. public as defending the lives and rights of civilians and 'keeping America safe'. Civilian deaths in targeted countries are always explained away as "accidental" or "unavoidable."

The mobster owned American news media rarely focuses on the fact that there are more US military deaths from suicide than from combat. The suicides are committed by men and women who find out that the wars are a lie.

All of America's post-World War II invasions and occupation of other nations were carried out in the name of "freedom" and "democracy". The truth is - nearly all of the invasions were in defense of dictatorships controlled by pro-U.S. elites. Whether in Vietnam, Central America, or the Persian Gulf, the U.S. did not NOT defend "freedom". They were defending an economic agenda like oil company investments. In the few cases when U.S. military forces toppled a dictatorship—such as in Grenada or Panama—they prevented the country's people from overthrowing their own dictator and installing a new democratic government.

The U.S. always calls the opposition from their opponents - "terrorism". Anyone who dares to fight back against American crimes against humanity is labelled a terrorist. They are accused of "atrocities against their own civilians," or "ethnic cleansing". When the same actions are committed by the U.S. or its allies, they justify it. Washington's double standard maintains that the U.S. and their allies act "defensively," but when their enemies retaliate, they call it "offensive."

The U.S. often portrays itself as a neutral peacekeeper with nothing but the purest humanitarian motives for its bombing. After deploying forces in a targeted country, however, it quickly divides the country or region into "friends" and "foes," and pits one side against another. This strategy inflames civil conflict like in Somalia and Bosnia, and deepens hatred against the USA. By polarizing factions, the US military destabilizes and weakens the country it attacks. These same countries keep reappearing over and over again on the list of 20th century re-interventions.

The U.S. demonizes enemy leaders like Iraq's Saddam, Libya's Ghaddafi, Syria's Assad when they take military action against them. This has only strengthened the enemy's hold on power. Regimes with the longest hold on power are Ghaddafi, Castro, Saddam, Kim because they stood up the American Goliath and accurately blamed their internal problems on U.S. economic sanctions.

Christian America has killed millions including civilians in Vietnam, Iraq, Japan, Libya, Syria and at home (blacks and native Americans). They have killed with atomic bombs, depleted uranium, agent orange chemicals, cluster bombs, climate and atmospheric weaponry. They have exercised extreme violence, torture, intolerance and genocide world wide over the centuries.

It is time for America to take responsibility for its own history and actions and stop feeding the cycle of violence by rallying around war mongering politicians and sucking up the mobster owned media propaganda that supports them.
