A 1972 essay by Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is getting some attention today, because it’s weird as fuck. Bernie opines that men masturbate to images of women who are “tied up” and abused, while women fantasize about “being raped by three men simultaneously.” Oh, you’re paying attention to the election stuff now, huh?
Here’s the 'women love to be gang raped' piece:
A man goes home and masturbates his typical fantasy. A woman on her knees, a woman tied up, a woman abused. A woman enjoys intercourse with her man — as she fantasizes being raped by 3 men simultaneously.
The man and woman get dressed up on Sunday — and go to Church, or maybe to their “revolutionary” political meeting.
Have you ever looked at the Stag, Man, Hero, Tough magazines on the shelf of your local bookstore? Do you know why the newspapers with the articles like “Girl 12 raped by 14 men” sell so well? To what in us are they appealing?
Women, for their own preservation, are trying to pull themselves for all of humanity that they do so. Slavishness on one hand breeds pigness on the other hand. Pigness on one hand hand breeds slavishness on the other, Men and women — both are losers. Women adapt themselves to full the needs of men, and men adapt themselves to fill the needs of women. In the beginning there were strong men who killed the animals and brought home the food — and the dependent women who cooked it. No more! Only the roles remain –waiting to be shaken off. There are no “human” oppressors. Oppressors have lost their humanity. On one hand “slavishness,” one the other hand “pigness.” Six of one, half dozen of the other, Who wins?
Many women seem to be walking a tightrope now. Their qualities of love, openness and gentleness were too deeply enmeshed with qualities of dependency, subservience, and masochism. How do you love — with-out being dependent? How do you be gentle — without being subservient? How do you maintain a relationship without giving up your identity and getting strung out? How do you reach out and give your heart to your lover, but maintain the soul which is you?
And Men. Men are in pain too. They are thinking, wondering. What is it they want from a woman? Are they at fault? Are they perpetrating this man-woman situation? Are they oppressors? The man is bitter.
“You lied to me,” he said. (She did).
“You said that you loved me, that you wanted me, that you needed me. Those are your words.” (They are).
“But in reality,” he said, “If you ever love me, or wanted me, or needed me (all of which I’m not certain was ever true), you also hated me. You hated me — just as you have hated every man in your entire life, but you didn’t have the guts to tell me that. You hated me before you ever saw me, even though I was not your father, or your teacher, or your sex friend when you were 13 years old, or your husband. You hated me not because of who I am, or what I was to you, but because I am a man. You did not deal with me as a person — as me. You lived a lie with me, used me and played games with me — and that’s a piggy thing to do.”
And she said, “You wanted me not as a woman, or as a lover, or a friend, but as a submissive woman, or submissive friend , or submissive lover; and right now where my head is I balk at even the slightest suspicion of that kind of demand.
And he said, “You’re full of _______.”
And they never again made love together (which they had each liked to do more than anything) or never ever saw each other one more time.
In 1964, Sanders married Deborah Shiling. They divorced in 1966. Sanders spent several months on the Israeli kibbutz Sha'ar HaAmakim. His son, Levi Sanders, was born in 1969 to girlfriend Susan Campbell Mott. In 1988, Sanders married Jane O’Meara Driscoll (née Mary Jane O'Meara). With her he has three stepchildren - Dave Driscoll, Carina Driscoll, and Heather Titus (née Driscoll).
In the late 1960s, Sanders bought a property in Vermont and travelled between Vermont and New York City, where he worked at a psychiatric hospital. This was when he wrote his women love rape essay.
In 1974, Sanders sent an open letter to President Gerald Ford, warning of a "virtual Rockefeller family dictatorship over the nation" if Nelson Rockefeller was named vice president. He also called for the CIA to be disbanded immediately, in the wake of revelations about the agency's misdeeds. Sanders' campaign platform, from a 1974 Liberty Union pamphlet.
In 1979, Sanders wrote that TV was evil, involved in "the well-tested Hitlerian principle that people should be treated as morons and bombarded over and over again with the same simple phrases and ideas." Television stations were "attempting to brainwash people into submission and helplessness."
In 1981, Sanders ran for mayor of Burlington, as an independent and won.
Sanders had a formative experience on a kibbutz. “Saturday Night Live” dubbed him the “old Jew.”
“Do you view yourself as a Zionist?” the left-leaning online magazine Vox asked Sanders in a July 28 interview.
It’s a funny question for Sanders, who if there were an “out and proud” metric for Jews in politics would score high.
Sanders is best friends with Richard Sugarman, a professor of Jewish philosophy at the University of Vermont who champions Zionism to his left-leaning students. His other best friend – and former chief of staff – is Huck Gutman, a Jewish University of Vermont professor of literature who is a passionate aficionado of the poetry of Yehuda Amichai.
When Jewish comedian Sarah Silverman introduced Sanders at an Aug. 10 rally in Los Angeles, she dropped her caustic Jewish shtick and called him a 'man of the people'. Did she mean "the chosen people?"
Polls show that American Jews overwhelmingly favor him.
The Brooklyn-born Sanders has been shaped by the murder of his father’s extended family in the Holocaust.
So where does Bernie Sanders stand on Israel?
When forced to, he admits that he backs Israel and then to be politically correct, he throws in a bunch of sympathetic adjectives for the depopulated Palestinians.
Is Sanders a Zionist? Here’s what he told Vox’s Ezra Klein: “A Zionist? What does that mean? Want to define what the word is? Do I think Israel has the right to exist? Yeah, I do. Do I believe that the United States should be playing an even-handed role in terms of its dealings with the Palestinian community in Israel? Absolutely I do.
What does Sanders mean by even-handed??? The Jews have already stolen and occupied 80% of the Palestinian land, built walls, and caused a Palestianian holocaust. They changed the name of the nation of Palestine to Isreal in 1945. Even orthodox Rabbi Jews living in Israel don't believe Israel has a right to exist. The question is no longer, "does Israel have a right to exist?" The question should be "Does Palestine have a right to exist and reclaim its territory and name?"
Sanders continues with, “Again, I think that you have volatile regions in the world, the Middle East is one of them, and the United States has got to work with other countries around the world to fight for Israel’s security and existence at the same time as we fight for a Palestinian state where the people in that country can enjoy a decent standard of living, which is certainly not the case right now. My long-term hope is that instead of pouring so much military aid into Israel, into Egypt, we can provide more economic aid to help improve the standard of living of the people in that area.”
Sanders admits, “What is going on in the Middle East right now is obviously a tragedy, there’s no question about it. The sight of Israeli soldiers breaking the arms and legs of Arabs is reprehensible. The idea of Israel closing down towns and sealing them off is unacceptable,” he said at a news conference."
“It’s so easy to be critical of an agreement which is not perfect,” he told CBS News on Aug. 7. “But the United States has to negotiate with, you know, other countries. We have to negotiate with Iran. And the alternative of not reaching an agreement, you know what it is? It’s war. Do we really want another war, a war with Iran? An asymmetrical warfare that will take place all over this world, threatening American troops? So I think we go as far as we possibly can in trying to give peace a chance, if you like. Trying to see if this agreement will work. And I will support it.”
Sanders doesn't say what the terms of the Israel-Arab agreement might be or if he will support a war on the side of Israel if the terms are not met. We already know that Zionist israel will not stop until the Palestinians are wiped off the map and the last 20% of their land has been confiscated.
Is Bernie Sanders a Zionist? Is he a dirty old man? Is he a lying Jewish politician who will say anything to get elected and then break his promises once he's in office? When will people stop believing in Presidential Saviors who call themselves "outsiders"?
