Romney: Bully, Felonist & Draft Dodging Mormon

When Mitt Romney was a college freshman, he disguised himself as a police officer which is a felony in many states, including Michigan and California, where he then lived.

So recalls Robin Madden, who had also just arrived as a freshman. The startling incident began when Romney called him and two or three other residents into his room, saying, “Come up, I want to show you something.” When they entered Romney’s room, a Michigan State Trooper’s uniform was laid out on his bed.

In a recent interview, Madden said, “He [Romney} told us that he had gotten the uniform from his father,” George Romney, then the Governor of Michigan, whose security detail was staffed by uniformed troopers. “He told us that he was using it to pull over drivers on the road. He also had a red flashing light that he would attach to the top of his white Rambler.” Madden said, “We thought it was all pretty weird. We all thought, ‘Wow, that’s pretty creepy.’

Other eyewitnesses have previously recalled Romney’s alleged fetish for trooper uniforms in crimes during his high school years at the exclusive Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. To some observers, Romney’s alleged masquerading as a cop to intimidate innocent drivers shows a bullying character defect that is also revealed by other "gay" bullying incidents during his youth.

Mitt Romney was forced to defend himself against charges that he bullied gay classmates as a high school student. He refused to tolerate his gay classmate Jon Lauber walking around the ritzy Cranbrook School with long, bleached-blonde hair. “That’s wrong. Just look at him!” Romney exclaimed. According to several sources including Romney’s friend Matthew Friedemann, things then took a dark turn:

A few days later, Friedemann entered Stevens Hall off the school’s collegiate quad to find Romney marching out of his own room ahead of a prep school posse shouting about their plan to cut Lauber’s hair. Friedemann followed them to a nearby room where they came upon Lauber, tackled him and pinned him to the ground. As Lauber, his eyes filling with tears, screamed for help, Romney repeatedly clipped his hair with a pair of scissors.

In a separate incident, Romney taunted a closeted gay classmate with cat calls of “atta girl!”

Romney, who supports a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, issued an apology of sorts for his crimes that were disclosed in the Washington Post earlier this year.

Romney committed a felony by wearing a police uniform and impersonating a cop. He did it more than once. In both California and Michigan, any person convicted of fraudulently impersonating a police officer can be sentenced to a prison term.

The Romney campaign did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Mitt Romney, a Stanford University drop-out after only two semesters, supported the Vietnam War but avoided the draft. How did he do it? Through his family connections. Romney couldn't use a student deferment from the draft because he was a drop-out — so he avoided service anyway with the help of Mormon elders.

As the son of George Romney, then Michigan’s governor, Romney became one of a limited number of Mormon youth chosen as missionaries — a status that protected him from the draft between July 1966 and February 1969 as a “minister of religion or divinity student.” Essentially, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints re-routed Romney from Vietnam to the south of France, where he served as a Moron Mormon missionary in France — thus avoiding the obligation to wear a military uniform in Vietnam.
