Loaded Guns March On Washington

Are you a second amendment-loving, heat-packing patriot willing to get arrested to protect your right to bear arms this Independence Day? Well, if you’re in the D.C. area, look no further than the “Open Carry March on Washington.”

Adam Kokesh, an anti-war protester turned teabagger turned radio show host is the organizer. Like Alex Jones, Kokesh is lusting after publicity and pointing his followers in the "get mad" direction of an armed rebellion.

Kokesh describes the march as “an act of civil disobedience” in which he and thousands plan to protest in Washington, D.C., with loaded guns on July 4th.

“We will march with rifles loaded and slung across our backs to put the government on notice that we will not be intimidated and cower in submission to tyranny,” says Kokesh on the event’s Facebook page.

“We are truly saying in the subtlest way possible that we would rather die on our feet than live on our knees.”

“When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty.” ~Thomas Jefferson

So far 1,700 are listed as attending with more than 30,000 people invited.

“There's a remote chance that there will be violence as there has been from government before,” Kokesh says, urging armed participants to “submit to arrest without resisting” if stopped by law enforcement during the march.

"On the morning of July 4, 2013, Independence Day, we will muster at the National Cemetery & at noon we will step off to march across the Memorial Bridge, down Independence Avenue, around the Capitol, the Supreme Court, & the White House, then peacefully return to Virginia across the Memorial Bridge", says Kokesh.

Virginia permits the concealed carry of firearms with legal permits, while D.C. does not issue any gun permits or licenses.

"This is an act of civil disobedience, not a permitted event. We are marching to mark the high water mark of government & to turn the tide. This will be a non-violent event, unless the government chooses to make it violent. Should we meet physical resistance, we will peacefully turn back, having shown that free people are not welcome in Washington, & returning with the resolve that the politicians, bureaucrats, & enforcers of the federal government will not be welcome in the land of the free."

Kokesh ran for Congress in 2010 as a Republican in New Mexico, however his political views could best be described as Libertarian. He is also a bit of an anarchist rabble-rouser, having been giving a general discharge from the U.S. Marines after the Washington Post published a photo of him in uniform with other veterans on a mock patrol during an anti-war protest. Kokesh was also arrested for leading a flash mob protest at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. in 2011.

YOUR OPINION?

"My only concern is that this is giving the government an event that can be easily turned into a false flag bloodbath that's used to blame gun owners."

"This has nothing to do with peaceful protest and everything to do with intimidating street theater."

"If exercising a Constitutional right is "provocative," then too bad.

"What in the world is he trying to do? Get Killed?"

"I Pray that this is called off, this is just playing into King O’s hands."
